Twilight Smashes Box Office, Winehouse Splits From Husband
It was a good weekend to be a vampire. Twilight performed well above expectations at the box office this weekend taking in 70.6 million dollars. Studio executives expected the movie to bring in somwhere between 50-60 million. The droves of teenage girls pouring into the theatres over the past few days certainly helped to raise the movie’s take.
In other news, troubled singer Amy Winehouse has announced that she and her husband, Blake Fielder, are splitting up after 17 months of marriage. Winehouse reportedly told Britain’s News of the World that “it was never going to last. We were only together for sex.” You are one classy lady Amy.
